Now, she did recognize that God had given the land to the Israelites and that He was sovereign, (Joshua 2:11, “For the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.) but her actions did allow her people to be killed and the Israelites gain a foothold into the Promised Land. She betrayed her hometown to ensure her own safety and the safety of her family. ![]() We can add that she was a traitor to this. Rahab is described in Joshua 2 as a prostitute, a profession that we would all agree is opposed to the purposes and plans of God. Here is another unscientific, completely subjective list where I have no real criteria other than these are the people that I thought of as I was making the list. The reason that I know this is that the Bible is full of people who had significant character flaws but were still used for great purposes. Yet, in spite of these flaws, I know that God has a plan for me and wants to use me to do some great things. I’m often insensitive, selfish, arrogant, ultra-competitive, short-tempered and a procrastinator. I know I maintain the facade of perfection pretty well, but there are things that I don’t like about myself and others don’t like about me. This may shock you, but I am a flawed person. ![]()
